iFly coupon

Have you ever been to the new Junction in downtown Ogden? There's the huge megaplex theater, the wave machine place... what is that called? FlowRider? There's Fat Cats, Costa Vida, Farr's Ice Cream (YES!!), Gold's Gym and the iFly.

Oh you know, iFly is INDOOR SKYDIVING.

And Groupon is offering you the chance to experience it for only $49. For $49 you can skydive for an hour, play in the wave machine and spend a day rock climbing their indoor wall.

Now, I've never done any of these things, but Kev has. He's actually done the skydiving thing twice, and the FlowRider a few times too (he has so much more fun than me). If you would also like to have more fun than me, visit Groupon (both SLC and Ogden are offering this deal) and buy before time runs out!

A new twist on Farr's ice cream.

On Thursday night, my mom, Kev and the babies (Aspen and Maddie) went to the Riverdale dog park. After Maddie had a load of fun sniffing other dog bums and running around, we piled back in the car and stopped at the new Farr's ice cream shop on the corner of Riverdale Rd and Wall Ave.

Stop reading this post and get over there right now.

As soon as we walked in I commented that it seems to be the Farr's ice cream for the new generation. The tables are topped with industrial metal and there is a completely different vibe than the old-school versions of the two other Farr's shops in Ogden.

This Farr's offers a selection of delicious soft-serve ice cream with dozens of topping options. Ice cream lovers such as myself can pick a cup and mix/match flavors and toppings to our hearts' contents. The soft-serve is weighed and billed by the ounce so you can choose how much bang you get for your buck.

I mixed orange creme with strawberry and then I died and went to heaven.

If you like soft-serve, custard and/or frozen yogurt, then I recommend you visit this new Farr's. I believe there's one in the Orem area as well (Sophia, check it out for me and have some soft-serve for dinner, will you? I know you like that). The best part for me is that you're invited to sample the flavors and the cups they offer for the task are HUGE. Like, I almost helped myself to a handful of samples and called it good.

Please go, and tell me what you mix up.

Who doesn't love free date nights?

One of my favorite things to do is spend quality time with Kev. We just cancelled our cable (YIKES!) this week because 1) we're cutting back on expenses; and 2) we don't need to waste our time in front of stupid TV.

On Monday we went to the Ogden Amphitheater to enjoy the free concert and family movie. We only went once last year and I regret that we didn't take advantage of the opportunity more consistently.

The weather was perfect and we ran into the dog who made me adopt Maddie.

It was so good to see that little schnauzer and his mom Kerry. Kev and I left Maddie home because she's sometimes a toxic cloud of aggression in public places and neither one of us had the energy to keep her corralled.

Next week they're showing a Star Trek movie, and the week after is The Blindside. Let me know if you'd like to join me and Kev!

Be sure to enter Friday's giveaway!

Who knew I'd become a "crafter?"

The Localicious fair was a lot of fun, even if we got rained on for the better part of the morning. Many thanks to all the friends who came by and supported me, Jess and Darci. It was so great to see all of you!

I exercised great restraint and only purchased a couple of items for my Pilates buddy. Jess and Darci hooked me up with this burp cloth set that is one part super-soft minky fabric and one part super-soft flannel. LOVE it.

I also scored a fabulous onesie that promotes living green and having green poop. So appropriate to teach my child.

I don't know how much energy I have to do more vendor fairs in the future, but it was a great experience to spend a day in downtown Ogden and get some recognition for my shop. Again, many thanks to all who were able to stop by!

Start the long weekend with a bang in Ogden!

Please come visit me, Jess and Darci in Ogden this weekend! The only other favor I ask of you is that you pray it doesn't rain on us.

Free is the best option ever.

The DewTour and Verizon Wireless are hosting a FREE Dashboard Confessional concert tomorrow night on downtown 25th Street. Thrilling, I know.

I'm so excited I might pee my pants. That might be a good thing though, since the concert is outdoors. It'll warm me right up!

Bare Minerals

I love it.

Although, I am kicking myself for not just trying the grocery-store-counterpart Fresh Minerals- which is $20 cheaper and comes with an eye collection. My girl Ashley said that's what she uses and her skin looks amazing. Note to self: always talk with Ashley about make-up before taking the plunge.

Overall, I'm really happy with my purchase. After only three days I see a difference in my skin. It's smoother. It has better color. I adore the warming powder. It brightens up my skin tone and brings the right amount of warmth to my otherwise extremely pale skin. Once I run out, I think I'll switch right over to the Fresh Minerals collection. It's available at Smith's Grocery, which is so much more convenient than driving through Riverdale traffic to visit Ulta.

Lesson learned: Bare Minerals is worth it, but its price tag is not compatible with me for the long-haul.
