What a coincidence!
I picture these booties paired with tights, maybe brown, topped off with a blue skirt with subtle pinstripes. A taupe, wrap top and gold accessories would totally seal the deal.Oh wait, I have those things!

Does someone want to teach me how to knit?
So I need to learn how to knit. And buy hooks, and yarn and stuff.

Fantastic Find
I bought plain versions of this tee (both of the scoop and v-neck variety) in mass quantity a couple of years ago and have not regreted it.When browsing Forever21 I fell hard for this version with ruched sleeves. At $4.50 each, I should probably add at least a dozen to my wardrobe. They're extremely versatile and figure flattering. Perhaps when I have my body back I'll invest in a few of the delicious colors.

Too much of a good thing?
I can't decide if I like these boots or not. I think I'd be more inclined to like them if the toe wasn't round. It's possible that a pointed toe automatically makes me like a pair of shoes.

Hooters and pearls.
Is there anything better than a fat bird or owl? I think not. With spring time upon the Pink House, I get to enjoyt he chirps and tweets of all the birds who have returned. I haven't encountered any owls though... except for the fake one sitting in my neighbor's yard. This tubby little guy is definitely less unsettling to run into first thing in the morning.
On a much-less subtle note, I also love this pearl necklace.

As the bump gets bigger, the dresses get shorter.
So I jumped on the band wagon and picked up some inexpensive finds at Ross. I was looking around for more options and while this dress is twice what I paid for either of my Ross dresses, it's still worth a second glance.
And since I'm in Sandy so often to visit my brother, I may as well stop by the Forever21 down town and try some of their maxis. It's nice not worrying about adjusting anything while at work or church. I just layer a maxi over a wonder tee and call it good. It's weird to wear flats instead of heels, but I think they're a must when wearing a maxi.
This DownEast maxi is also a great find, and I'm partial to it in black. I didn't think I'd like maxi dresses (because I'm only about 5'4") but if you get just the right length for your body type you can totally pull off.

Yes, please.
I sent my sister a Forever21 gift card for her birthday and I keep sending her links of things I want her to buy. Or maybe I'll buy them for myself. Or maybe she'll take my advice and ship things to Utah (before she comes out to school again) and she'll ship them to my house and I can wear them first to make sure they're not poisonous or something.Tuesday, July 7, 2009

Why pay more when you can pay less?
When I visit Freeport I always stop by the BP outlet for a fragrance or clearance-priced skirt. There's an outlet in Park City that I hope to check out soon too.
I got an email from BP and decided to browse their site. I found this beautiful bib necklace and although I didn't find an exact match at Forever21, I found a few less expensive necklaces that I think are comparable in effect.
Banana Republic Glam bib necklace $69

Forever21 Round cluster beads $8.80

Forever21 Antique beaded necklace $5.80

Forever21 Triple strand leaf necklace $10.80

It just goes to show that with a little time, you can easily find alternatives to items you initially fall for in higher-end stores.
I promise.

Ruffles and simplicity

At Seth's last weekend, I ventured over to the new Forever21 in Sandy's South Towne Center.
I snagged the ruffly pink top above and the scoop neck (which is only $4.50!) in a variety of colors.
I followed up with a quick trip to DownEast in the Newgate Mall for the versatile Wonder Tee to wear under my new frilly top. I had to exercise great restraint in order to walk out of there with only one Wonder Tee. They're on sale right now 4 for $30 (buy 3 get 1 free).
Definitely my new favs.

Where Have You Been All My Life?
For example:
Luna Knee-Length dress for $19.80.
V-Neck Knit dress for $13.80, available in coral or orange.

Glenny's Floral dress for $22.80.
Looks like I need to suck it up and fight the mall crowd the next time I need an addition to my work wardrobe. Thrifty stores like ROSS are great when I have the time to sort through the racks, but Forever21 is looking like a much quicker fix at a comparable price.
PS after writing this post, I actually dreampt about getting the two-tone Luna dress posted above. I think it's a sign.
