Delight in J. Crew

I admit I've purchased clothes from J. Crew for Aspen. In my defense, it's usually at the outlet (when I visit my parents) or when items are on sale online for less than $10 each. Otherwise, I can't justify spending that kind of money on clothes Aspen will only wear for a few months before they're too small (or stained beyond saving!).

It doesn't stop me from occassionally checking out full-priced merchandise just for fun, though! See what I'm loving for this summer for Aspen (in a dream world):

Some Old Navy favorites

I just got Aspen a whole haul a winter clothes from Old Navy, and if I had endless money, I'd add some of these items to my list:

Fall into the GAP

A new GAP Factory outlet opened up near me. Allow that thought to settle in. What this means is I'm having flashbacks to working there in High School. And spending most of my paycheck there.

Eeep!

wild, wild west

Since Aspen was a wee little lass, the only socks that have stayed on her teensy tiny feet are Trumpette. I was given a lot of clothes, and included in one load of adorable items was a box of Trumpette socks. They are of the extra-cute variety, having colored bottoms and matching bows to resemble little ballet slippers on my baby's sweet feets.

Gilt Groupe is hosting a HUMONGOUS sale on Trumpette merchandise, and you can guarantee it will all stay put on your little one's foot.

Mosey on over to Gilt, sign up for free, and take a look at the unbelievably cute footwear they have on sale until June 8th. I mean, really? COWGIRL socks? Yee-haw.

Everybody, Everywear: Florals

Aspen and I decided to tackle this EBEW challenge together. We both perused our closets until we found outfits we loved and could manage on a rainy day.

Did you remember to wear florals today? There's still time! Link it up to Everybody, Everywear and see how others bloomed as well.

Baby Booty

I know, you think I'm kidding. This dress? Totally adorable. Puffed sleeves and everything.

And since it's a little big on her, she just might wear it every Sunday until it no longer fits.

It's so big, in fact, that I took it off her during the last block of meetings during church so she could comfortably take a nap in just her onesie.

Baby Booty

Blowing raspberries to match her raspberry-striped top.

Whenever I go to Freeport, I visit Polo Ralph Lauren even though I can't afford anything (and it's the OUTLET STORE!!). The great thing about now having a daughter to dress is the I can afford the tiny people clothes on the clearance racks.

YEA!!

So, last time I visited I bought a little Polo skirt. This time I bought a classic, striped Polo tee for Aspen. Each item was about $10 each, so definitely a little expensive for my tastes but not ridiculous. A plus with the tee is that it's kind of over-sized and flowy; perfect for Aspen to grow into. The buttons on the shoulder will keep the neck opening big enough for her growing noggin, too.

YEA!!

77kids

In college, I wore a lot of American Eagle. It was one of my favorite clothing brands and I still have a few hoodies from those days that aren't much worse for wear. Lately though, I've steered clear of AE because their tops got too skinny and long to flatter my body. On a whim though, I hit up AE's website and discoverd THEY HAVE A KIDS' LINE!!

I know it's all about nostalgia for my college years, but seriously, how cute would Aspen look in these?
AE, you just might have won me over again.

Two of my favorite things

French inspiration and hippos. Two of the best things ever.

I think this has sparked plans for Aspen's first birthday.

If you're not careful you can blow an entire paycheck on a week's worth of clothing.

I have barely made a dent in baby clothes shopping. I do love the handful of items Kev and I have picked up so far (many from DI) but from time-to-time I daydream about spending an insanely ridiculous amount of money on something that my little Pilates buddy will wear for a few weeks before getting too big and/or staining it beyond recognition.

Yes, my practical sides usually wins. But that won't stop me from marking this sweet jumper as a favorite.

This Jane Austen inspired dress actually makes me think of Anne of Green Gables (my favorite little girl), who is a lover of puffed sleeves.

Lovely, yes? What I'd really lke to do in the future is upcycle one of Kev's old dress shirts into a jumper for our little Pilates buddy. How cute would that be?! Here's to my goal to someday learn to sew.
