Birfday Booty, Day 8

Embellished tee: J.Crew Outlet Capris & Flats: GAP Outlet Baby: Wouldn't you like to know?

Aspen is wearing a piece of finery from Old Navy's clearance. The leg warmers were made by my friend Katie. She appears as one of my accessories due to her constant whining as I attempted to be narcissistic and photograph just myself.

Dang baby, get your own blog.

I like this outfit for like, a million reasons. 1) I'm wearing stripes and polka dots! 2) I'm wearing skinny jeans. 3) I love love love the necklace Mary sent me. 4) LL Bean made a pair of shoes that didn't make me want to throw up!! Go Beans!!

Birfday Booty, Day 5

Cardigan: Old Navy via Love & Photographs Shop Tee: Forever21 Jeans: Old Navy Flats: GAP Outlet

Here's my awesome cardigan again... Maybe I did wear it twice in the week I was in Maine. Who cares? I WAS ON VACATION!! I had a better photo to show off this outfit but I accidentally deleted it. When I asked Kev if there was a way to recover it he said yes, then sighed, and said it'd take him at least a couple of hours and asked if I really really needed it.

I guess I'm not vain enough to put my poor Kev through at least a couple of hours of photo recovery.

Birfday Booty, Day 4

Floral Top: Forever21 via Love & Photographs Shop Tee: Forever21 Boyfriend Jeans: GAP Outlet Mary Jane Flats: Blossom

Aren't you glad I'm not awkwardly looking at the floor in these photos? I thought I'd mix it up a bit. You know, show you my FACE. I ended up loving this top, even though I was nervous it wouldn't fit right. But I usually can't go wrong with Forever21, so it's staying in my closet. It's a good layering piece, for sure.

Birfday Booty, Day 3

Cardigan: Old Navy via Love & Photographs Shop Jeans: Target Shoes: Rocket Dog via DSW

Ok, forgive me for the "artistic" photo. I was flipping my hair a bit when the shot was taken. But, I guess you know I really am full of myself; why else would I have a whole bunch of posts focused on what I wore? Duh.

I'm not usually brave enough to wear a cardi all buttoned up like a shirt. The idea seemed to stuffy to me before I got this particular sweater. Having the bold print makes me feel less like a librarian than I thought I would. Love it.

Baby Booty

Blowing raspberries to match her raspberry-striped top.

Whenever I go to Freeport, I visit Polo Ralph Lauren even though I can't afford anything (and it's the OUTLET STORE!!). The great thing about now having a daughter to dress is the I can afford the tiny people clothes on the clearance racks.

YEA!!

So, last time I visited I bought a little Polo skirt. This time I bought a classic, striped Polo tee for Aspen. Each item was about $10 each, so definitely a little expensive for my tastes but not ridiculous. A plus with the tee is that it's kind of over-sized and flowy; perfect for Aspen to grow into. The buttons on the shoulder will keep the neck opening big enough for her growing noggin, too.

YEA!!

Birfday Booty, Day 2

Sweater: J. Crew Outlet Tee: Old Navy Boyfriend Jeans: GAP Outlet Mary Jane Flats: Blossom Cocktail Ring: Sherman's

Isn't that green wall fabulous? It's my parents' dining room. They used a rich plummy purple in the upstairs bath that I also love. Kev doesn't though, so it's not coming near our Pink House. Oh well.

I also think these jeans are fabulous. They're a slim fit, and they don't make me feel too curvy. Now I know why people are willing to spend $$$$$ on GAP jeans. They fit like a dream.

Baby Booty

Aspen got a few things too... okay, a LOT of things in Freeport. The sales were mind-blowing. Gymboree was doing things like telling me to buy items listed at $5.99 with an extra 40% discount taken at the register. I HAD NO CHOICE.

These unicorn PJs are just a small sampling of what Aspen got. I tried to get most of the items in bigger sizes that she can grow into, but since I forgot to pack extra PJs, I had to get something that fit her now.

I could just eat her up. These Unicorn PJs are from Gymboree, and just wait until you see the gigantically poofy dress I got her.

Birfday Booty, Day 1

You GUYS!! My mom and I shopped at GAP Outlet while I was in Freeport, and everything was like 50% off. So we went a little crazy. Actually, we didn't really go crazy. We just didn't save 50% because we bought two of everything. I also got a few deals at other places like J. Crew and Tommy Hilfiger. This week I'll be sharing my sweet finds from Freeport.

Lolly top dress

$30 for a little girl's dress doesn't exactly scream "sale" to me, but for J.Crew it is. There's an outlet in my hometown (Freeport) and I can guarantee that if I ever buy anything for Aspen from J.Crew, it'll be from there.

Despite how delightfully adorable this dress is, I can't justify the pricetag. But I can look all I want, right?

There aren't any locks on the doors, for real.

I have a history with LLBean. It's in my hometown. When I visited Freeport this summer, my sister and I came across this display of every catalogue cover LLBean produced. So fun!

They have life-time warranties on their products. So my Grandpa's 20-year-old-worn-out-boots can be replaced for free.

It's open 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. It never closes. So when you're bored and in Freeport, check out LLBean. Wander around. Buy a postcard. Try on a pair of famous Bean Boots.

Also, please please please try their chocolate covered cranberries.

Sometimes I feel like I'm not preppy enough for J. Crew

When I visited the J.Crew outlet in Freeport I didn't find many clothes that were worth trying (due to prices). Usually I find at least one item on the clearance rack that suits my budget and style but I was out of luck (so Mary, you don't have to be jealous!).

I did, however, find two hair accessories at the outlet that I decided to take home as mementos of my trip to the seashore.

I found a barrette with three black flowers clustered together and a white elastic with a delicate puffy flowery snow-flake like thing on it. Doesn't it sound lovely? I think so. My brother's dog liked it so much he tried to eat it out of my hand.

Since I am unable to locate these items on the J.Crew retail website, I'm afraid I'll have to tempt with with a couple of other items instead. And of course, one of these items has a much higher price tag than I can justify...

It is quite sparkly and lovely though, isn't it?

Since my friend Zjani cut my hair earlier this summer, I've put forth more effort to love it and style it and change it up throughout the week. I have found that having an assortment of inexpensive ponytail holders can easily add some glam and interest to a plain ol' pulled back hairdo.

Golden Cluster Elastic $16.50

This one is much to my liking. Kev and I actually bumped into a clearance rack at Smith's grocery with 10 for $10 hair accessories and he helped me pick out some quality yet inexpensive accents for my hair (what a great friend he is, yes?).

It goes to show that you can spend a little or a lot and get gems either way. Whether you spend $6.50 on a white fluffy flowery snowflake thing or $1 on a giant pink flower thing (one of my Smith's finds), you can look and feel great. I don't know why a little clip or flower makes such a big difference, but it does.

I've always loved this staircase.

Built in the late 1800s, some of this house has original features that are quite indicative of New England charm and architecture.

The staircase at the front of my parents' house is one of those features. It's much more alluring than the 1970s addition in the back of the house. I think there are too many layers of linoleum on the floor to count, and I really really don't know why the previous owners had a hot tub in what became my room over the kitchen.

That didn't make any sense to me at all.

Anyway. You can obviously see why I love the staircase. If you can't, duh. Seriously. You need help.

Being poor can't squash the shoe lover inside of me.

It just stops me from buying shoes.

Nine West Barbe (red or purple) $69.00 at Piperlime.com (which offers free shipping!).

Other varieties of the Barb (spelled without the "e" here) are available at Zappos.com (also with free shipping!).

Nine West Barb (blue multi-fabric) $68.95.

Nine West Barb (medium blue multi) $68.95.

Nine West Barb (purple-same as above from Piperlime ) $68.95.

I'm sorry, but I just don't spend that much on shoes. Ok, well, maybe I spend that much on shoes in a couple of months' time, but please remember that I am the girl who finds Nine West shoes for $19 at DSW. Or I hold out and buy shoes on sale at the Nine West outlet in Freeport (there's one in Park City too and I am so proud that I didn't even go inside).

It looks like I'll be holding out until these show up at DSW or I make it to an outlet to check out the deals. I love being a bargain shoe shopper. Why? Because then there is absolutely no guilt when I look at my collection and see the same shoe in four different colors. I know in my shoe-loving heart that the amount I spent on three of those four pairs is equivalent to the retail cost of one.

I'm smart like that.

On the Nine West site, the Barbe is listed at $79.oo, but it says to take 25% off which means they are selling limited styles of the Barbe (mostly faux crocodile) for $59.25 with complimentary shipping right now. Woo! Much like DSW, you can also earn points for purchases and use those towards discounts in the future.
