FASHION SHOW, FASHION SHOW! FASHION SHOW AT LUNCH!

The only hitch with this vintage dress is the fact that it isn't lined. But that's nothing a slip can't remedy.

It's designed to have a belt, but when I got this from the swap it didn't have one. Thankfully, I have this belt I think I got second-hand from Melissa when I dove through a giant box of her old clothes.

Mikki dyed this dress periwinkle, and I love that it has such subtle color to it. I can style this a lot of different ways and get a lot of use out of such a well-preserved and well-structured dress. I'm really excited for Kev to replace the zipper though, because in it's current, delicate state I can't zip it myself.

Do you wear vintage? It's not something I specifically seek, but if I come across a beauty like this (especially for free) I don't care if the item is 100 years old or just made yesterday.

More gems from the fashion swap

First of all, I love my hammock. Second of all, I love my new-to-me J.Crew mary jane heels.

And you won't believe me when I tell you this, but those are JEGGINGS. Yeah. Jeggings. Like, leggings that look like jeans. With fake front pockets and everything. Those are another item I scored from the fashion swap. I never thought I'd ever wear jeggings. In fact, as I slipped the pants on during the swap, my mind was like, "hmm, why are these skinny jeans so extra tight?" Duh.

Being pear-shaped, I didn't know if I could wear jeggings without offending the public. But as I've styled them, I've found them to be super-versatile. They are complemented by this flowy top, and wearing heels is a no-brainer for extra length in my legs.

I'm officially sold on jeggings. Heck, if Conan can wear them on national TV, than I can at least wear them in O-town.

Hipster, Thrifter, Fashion Swap

Mikki's fashion swap was a serious success for me. Sure, it was probably great for everyone else too, but I was so enamored with my own finds that I wasn't paying much attention.

If you haven't noticed, Mikki is a petite little miss, but that didn't stop me from swapping some of my items for some of hers. Who cares if I'm like, 5 inches taller than her? Who cares that she's so mini she wore this dress while PREGNANT? This dress suits me as a tunic top. I've had a hard time styling it, but I finally settled on these ancient Target capris for today.

I couldn't pass it up because 1) it's GAP and I'm obviously addicted; 2) it's super-soft 3) if you don't consider the fact that it's supposed to be a dress, it otherwise fits me perfectly.

Stay tuned to see what J.Crew items I scored. You'll die.

Feeding my addiction

This weekend has been amazing so far (except the "B" key on my laptop is sticking... uh oh). ANYWAY.

I attended the Prom at Vintage Cupcake, the fashion swap (hosted at Vintage Cupcake) and I went to a 5 year old's birthday party. Can you handle the fun?

In addition to all the events, I also won a pair of shoes from Blowfish Shoes via Mikki, who is the mastermind behind Indie Ogden Utah. I had a really hard time narrowing down my choices when I submitted my entries to the contest, but I'm leaning toward this pair of sandal wedges.

What do you think? What would you pick from Blowfish? They're having a 30% off sale right now, with free shipping, so definitely check out their merch.

Oh, not like I need more shoes... I got a pair of J.Crew heels from the fashion swap, and a pair of boots. But hey, free shoes are FREE SHOES.
