Yoga art

These photos are in a series by D'ana Baptiste and I saw them at two different Yoga studios last week.

I couldn't resist sharing, especially with such clever names as "Solar Power" (referring to the Sun Salutation vinyasa) and "Tragically Hip."

If I ever have my own studio space, this 4-part series is definitely going to be amongst the simple decor.

Birfday Booty, Day 9

Headband: Katie b.p. Tee: Tommy Hilfiger Outlet Jeans: GAP Outlet Boots: Diba via DSW

If I had left the house on this rainy day, I would've chosen to wear my brown boots. Now, since I didn't actually leave the house, it may be more accurate to imagine me barefoot instead. Did you notice that these are the same Diba boots I accidentally sucked into my vacuum?

Another confession is that headband was probably meant for Aspen (Katie sent us a box of goodies) but she didn't like wearing it so I stole it.

Baby Booty

I know, you think I'm kidding. This dress? Totally adorable. Puffed sleeves and everything.

And since it's a little big on her, she just might wear it every Sunday until it no longer fits.

It's so big, in fact, that I took it off her during the last block of meetings during church so she could comfortably take a nap in just her onesie.

Birfday Booty, Day 8

Embellished tee: J.Crew Outlet Capris & Flats: GAP Outlet Baby: Wouldn't you like to know?

Aspen is wearing a piece of finery from Old Navy's clearance. The leg warmers were made by my friend Katie. She appears as one of my accessories due to her constant whining as I attempted to be narcissistic and photograph just myself.

Dang baby, get your own blog.

I like this outfit for like, a million reasons. 1) I'm wearing stripes and polka dots! 2) I'm wearing skinny jeans. 3) I love love love the necklace Mary sent me. 4) LL Bean made a pair of shoes that didn't make me want to throw up!! Go Beans!!

Birfday Booty, Day 5

Cardigan: Old Navy via Love & Photographs Shop Tee: Forever21 Jeans: Old Navy Flats: GAP Outlet

Here's my awesome cardigan again... Maybe I did wear it twice in the week I was in Maine. Who cares? I WAS ON VACATION!! I had a better photo to show off this outfit but I accidentally deleted it. When I asked Kev if there was a way to recover it he said yes, then sighed, and said it'd take him at least a couple of hours and asked if I really really needed it.

I guess I'm not vain enough to put my poor Kev through at least a couple of hours of photo recovery.

Birfday Booty, Day 4

Floral Top: Forever21 via Love & Photographs Shop Tee: Forever21 Boyfriend Jeans: GAP Outlet Mary Jane Flats: Blossom

Aren't you glad I'm not awkwardly looking at the floor in these photos? I thought I'd mix it up a bit. You know, show you my FACE. I ended up loving this top, even though I was nervous it wouldn't fit right. But I usually can't go wrong with Forever21, so it's staying in my closet. It's a good layering piece, for sure.

Birfday Booty, Day 3

Cardigan: Old Navy via Love & Photographs Shop Jeans: Target Shoes: Rocket Dog via DSW

Ok, forgive me for the "artistic" photo. I was flipping my hair a bit when the shot was taken. But, I guess you know I really am full of myself; why else would I have a whole bunch of posts focused on what I wore? Duh.

I'm not usually brave enough to wear a cardi all buttoned up like a shirt. The idea seemed to stuffy to me before I got this particular sweater. Having the bold print makes me feel less like a librarian than I thought I would. Love it.

Baby Booty

Blowing raspberries to match her raspberry-striped top.

Whenever I go to Freeport, I visit Polo Ralph Lauren even though I can't afford anything (and it's the OUTLET STORE!!). The great thing about now having a daughter to dress is the I can afford the tiny people clothes on the clearance racks.

YEA!!

So, last time I visited I bought a little Polo skirt. This time I bought a classic, striped Polo tee for Aspen. Each item was about $10 each, so definitely a little expensive for my tastes but not ridiculous. A plus with the tee is that it's kind of over-sized and flowy; perfect for Aspen to grow into. The buttons on the shoulder will keep the neck opening big enough for her growing noggin, too.

YEA!!

Birfday Booty, Day 2

Sweater: J. Crew Outlet Tee: Old Navy Boyfriend Jeans: GAP Outlet Mary Jane Flats: Blossom Cocktail Ring: Sherman's

Isn't that green wall fabulous? It's my parents' dining room. They used a rich plummy purple in the upstairs bath that I also love. Kev doesn't though, so it's not coming near our Pink House. Oh well.

I also think these jeans are fabulous. They're a slim fit, and they don't make me feel too curvy. Now I know why people are willing to spend $$$$$ on GAP jeans. They fit like a dream.

Baby Booty

Aspen got a few things too... okay, a LOT of things in Freeport. The sales were mind-blowing. Gymboree was doing things like telling me to buy items listed at $5.99 with an extra 40% discount taken at the register. I HAD NO CHOICE.

These unicorn PJs are just a small sampling of what Aspen got. I tried to get most of the items in bigger sizes that she can grow into, but since I forgot to pack extra PJs, I had to get something that fit her now.

I could just eat her up. These Unicorn PJs are from Gymboree, and just wait until you see the gigantically poofy dress I got her.

Birfday Booty, Day 1

You GUYS!! My mom and I shopped at GAP Outlet while I was in Freeport, and everything was like 50% off. So we went a little crazy. Actually, we didn't really go crazy. We just didn't save 50% because we bought two of everything. I also got a few deals at other places like J. Crew and Tommy Hilfiger. This week I'll be sharing my sweet finds from Freeport.

Go find a giveaway!

Ashley is hosting a giveaway for a cutie-patootie cake stand, and you can choose the color if you win! Woo! I'm crossing my fingers because I don't own a cake stand and I'm pretty sure that all moms and LDS women in general are supposed to have cake stands for birthday parties or just random cake/cupcake eating get-togethers.

Anyway, head over to Ashley's blog, check out the colors available and enter for a chance to win.

77kids

In college, I wore a lot of American Eagle. It was one of my favorite clothing brands and I still have a few hoodies from those days that aren't much worse for wear. Lately though, I've steered clear of AE because their tops got too skinny and long to flatter my body. On a whim though, I hit up AE's website and discoverd THEY HAVE A KIDS' LINE!!

I know it's all about nostalgia for my college years, but seriously, how cute would Aspen look in these?
AE, you just might have won me over again.

DwellStudio

While on the hunt for something cute for Aspen to wear on her birthday (with a HIPPO on it) I found DwellStudio's line of bedding for Target that includes freaking adorable hippos. I don't need bedding though, so I tried to ignore how cute it all was. But that couldn't stop me from browsing over at DwellStudio's website and falling in love with a couple of clearance items.

Aspen hasn't had new toys in a while; I mostly try to rotate her exposure to the ones we've had since she was born. I also put rice and dry pasta in empty, clean baby food jars so she can rattle those around. Plus, who needs toys when the dog brings tennis balls right to you?!

Regardless of me being lame and hardly ever buying Aspen toys, these are great! I came so close to caving and buying the rings, but then I reminded myself I can buy like, a million toys for $18 if I just go to ROSS. And if I would just learn how to use Kev's sewing machine in the basement I could make Aspen a bunny. Not that she needs anymore bunnies... but you know. I could make her stuff like the bunny.

Plus, while we're in Maine for a week Aspen will forget about all the toys at our house and they'll seem new to her again when we get back to Utah. So I don't need to buy her new toys just yet.

The Paris Apartment

How amazing would it be to rent an apartment in Paris? Especially one with a view like this.

I just found the blog The Paris Apartment, and while it's not totally my style, I do love the photos she shares from her visits to Paris.
