Happy happy, joy joy!

Somehow, Alissa knew that I have a kajillion photos of Aspen just sitting on my computer, waiting to be printed. Yesterday she posted a Snapfish code that offers 100 prints for only $5, which is just the shipping cost.

YES, YOU CAN GET 100 PHOTOS FOR FIVE DOLLARS.

The only trick is that you MUST order 100 photos, no more no less. Otherwise Snapfish tells you the code is invalid. So, if you want to take advantage of this screamin' deal, use code CUPIDPICS and get 100 prints free. The code is only good until February 20th, so get going.

Consider yourself warned though... if you come over to the Pink House you'll probably get stuck looking at photos of Aspen until your eyes dry up and fall out of your head (SOPHIA!!).

Vintage Cupcake Company

At the beginning of the month, my book club actually met at Vintage Cupcake Co. for our discussion. It's a little girl's dream- it's like stepping inside a teapot. What does that even mean? Well, it's like... the whole place is the perfect setting for a tea party.

Groupon teamed up with VCC to offer a 50% discount today, allowing you to enjoy $10 worth of cupcakes for only 5 bucks. Great deal on a great product. So far, my favorite is the chocolate chip cookie dough cupcake because it comes topped with a COOKIE!! What could be better than a cupcake combined with a cookie? Pretty much nothing.

I know cupcakes are an out-of-control trend right now, but sometimes there's a reason for that. These cupcakes are gooooood. And it was lovely to talk books with Alissa while munching on a chocolate cupcake with cream cheese frosting this month. It was like an early Valentine to me, from me.

Carved Crayons

I found Pete Goldlust's work via Beyond Black & White, which is a blog I visited in the BlogHer network.

Goldlust's carved crayons are true-to-size, meaning, they aren't enlarged. I'm amazed, and I can only imagine how good his sculptures must smell. Don't you love the smell of a box of fresh crayons? I think it'd smell even better if the crayons looked like Goldlust's sculptures.

He has a unique approach to art and why he does it, which can be read on his site, here.

Zion National Park getaway

Kev and I scooted down to Zion one summer on a whim. We drove down in the dead of night and met up with a friend who was working there at an awesome "ranch." And by ranch, I mean a place rich people call a ranch. We camped in the mountains and then took showers in the ranch, and I did Yoga by the pool. That kind of ranch.

If you want to create some amazing memories such as these (minus the sneaking in part), then take Living Social up on this deal for two: A 2-night stay for $84 at Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort. If you want to upgrade your accommodations, it's only $174.

Ponderosa offers zip lines, guided tours through slot canyons and when Kev and I snuck in, er um, were there, they also had an indoor rock climbing wall. It also has on-site masseuses and 4-wheelers for the kiddos to ride around a track. There are lots of other amenities, including Ponderosa's proximity to the Park itself.

There are only 6 more days to take Ponderosa up on their offer, so get buying! When Kev gets home I may just have to talk him into this. The boy needs some rock climbing, and there are some amazing places in Southern Utah I know he can't resist.

February is the month of... meat?

Kev visited Les Schwab last week to get tires for his Tercel and he came home with four steaks. From a tire store. Surprise! Apparently, it's free meat month at Les Schwab, no matter what you spend on tires. This tradition started 48 years ago for two reasons: 1) to say thank you to customers, and 2) to support farmers in the west. I think this is awesome for two reasons: 1) I love steak, and 2) Kev loves steak.

If you've been putting it off, now is definitely the time to get tires. Kev and I grilled our thin-cut steaks on Sunday and we really wished we had thawed out all four steaks for we could've eaten two each.

Yeah, we're serious carnivores.

GO MEAT!

Ski Utah!

Living Social has a deal for all you snow bunnies- $12 rental package or tune up, for skis OR snowboards in SLC.

It's being offered with Wasatch Ski Connection, so let them hook you up with all the gear you need to hit the slopes.

Plus, there's still time to enter Monday's giveaway!

A whole lotta green

This metal tree shelf was featured in Martha Stewart this month and I almost peed my pants when I saw the $2500 price tag.

Having a brother who welds, I believe I could request to have this replicated for a much easier-to-swallow price tag.

Regardless of price, I think this is a fantastic idea for metal. It shows off how versatile it is as a medium. Plus, in the dead of winter, green is SUCH a refreshing color to bring into any home. A tree shelf would be a great addition to a kid's room, although I bet the little monkeys could be found hanging off the lower shelves...

Go Find a Giveaway!

I have one of these slings and I have loved it. It was great when Penny, Kev, Mandi and I went to the pumpkin patch. Wearing the baby while shopping is so much easier than pushing her stroller or hauling the car seat on my arm.

My sling worked best when Aspen was about 3 months and still works now at 6+ months. If you'd like to stuff your little one into a sling, then now's your chance! I'm giving this Green Vibe sling away to one reader.

(This Seven sling is a size 4, which means it will best fit a torso measuring 25 inches from shoulder to opposite hip. I wear the size 2 comfortably, so if you're taller than me (5'4") this is the sling for you.)

I wish I was more creative

I really wish I could have gotten over my anxiety, fatigue and general insanity when Aspen came home because doing something like this would have made for wonderful memories.

Giveaway winner!

All the entries have been tallied and random.org has picked a winner.

Melissa, the Isis laptop case is yours! Please email me: livytay{at}gmail{dot}com so I can give your shipping information to Isis.

Thanks to everyone who participated! There will be another giveaway this month, so if you didn't win today, there's another opportunity just around the corner.

East Coast represent!

There is absolutely no reason for me to buy whoopie pies. I know how to make both chocolate and banana varieties.

However, I'm lazy. And these "Whippie Pies" from Whipped Bake Shop in Philly look too good to be true. I love that you can get variety packs or the more traditional chocolate whoopie. They also have lots of Valentine-themed treats, and if you order now I bet you can get them in time for the big day.

Okay, now wipe the drool off your face.

Hide your Hooters

For a free nursing cover from UdderCovers, use promotional code "VALENTINE." Once applied to your purchase, you'll only have to pay shipping. I have one of these covers and I love it. I've used it in my own house when I have family over, and I've used it in Mother's Rooms all over the place! If you get a little shy when feeding your wee one, then having a cover is a must.

Grey Dollhouse heels

During November and December, I searched for the perfect grey boot. I read reviews a noted that the pair I loved didn't hold up very well to regular wear. I even went to the mall (gag!!) and tried on boots at Forever Young. They had a great pair, but in the end, I couldn't justify spending $35 on boots. BOOTS. I've become a major tight-wad and sadly put the boots back so I could keep the money in my bank account.

Fast-forward to this week. I'm at ROSS shopping for a baby shower (why shop anywhere else?). After picking up a few items that were on the mama's registry, I went over to shoes just to look. Of course, I ended up trying things on, just for fun. I even promised Aspen I wouldn't buy anything.

That promise was promptly broken when I tried on grey suede heels with a $9 price tag. I decided to cancel my plans to snatch a sandwich from Chik-Fil-A and instead bought myself the grey shoes. I still hope for grey boots someday, but for now I'm thrilled to have my grey heels.

Happy are we!

Go Find a Giveaway!

My younger brother works for Isis, which has stylish gear for your electronics. You know I have my own case for my laptop, and today I want you to have one too!

This Riviera Bleu sleeve has memory foam to protect your laptop, and it really works because my dog has trampled my sister's iMac in one of these babies and it didn't even flinch. The Riviera sleeve is valued at $32 but if you're the lucky winner, you'll receive it free (shipped directly from Isis).

Isis is run out of Provo, and they have backpacks, iPhone cases, iPad cases and other gear for your computer. On their site, Isis shares that a portion of their monthly profits are donated to Deseret International, which is an organization that is offers reconstructive surgery to those in need in third-world countries. Isn't that awesome? A product that makes you feel good for so many reasons- it's cute, functional and its profits help others.

If you'd like to be entered to win this 15" sleeve, become a follower and leave a comment! If you're already a follower, (thanks!) just leave a comment letting me know.
