Just in time

My Holiday Sale starts tomorrow! Join the Facebook fan page to get the scoop on discounts good December 1st-15th only.

Impluse shopping isn't all bad.

On the way home from work last week, I decided to stop at DownEast Outfitters (home and clothing store) on Washington Blvd.

I walked out with a Belle of the Ball dress for only $18.

Sweet.

How to keep all those prints organized.

B&H photography has photo albums for Holga prints (5X5) that I have my eye on. Kev would prefer having the photos stored in albums instead of strung up all over the house. I guess he's not a fan of pin holes in the walls he painstakingly painted.

I can't decide if I should get the album that holds 1 photo per page or the album that holds 4 per page. Either way, I'm just glad a fairly inexpensive album exists to display my Holga prints.

Once I get film for Kev's old Polaroid camera, I'll need to get an album like this one from Urban Outfitters for all my instant prints!

I have such a soft spot for gigantic rings.

A part of me wants to be a personal shopper. I'd love to spend someone else's money putting together outfits and gathering a collection of accessories. It's so satisfying to find great deals, but it's just a find, never a acquisition these days. I have no real need for anything, so the window-shopping is is just a way for me to overload my brain with all sorts of lovely options for the future.

On that note, let me know if I can help you find the perfect little something for the upcoming Holidays. I'm happy to find something you or someone you love might like as a Holiday gift!

More fashionable than the slipper socks I had growing up.

I hate winter, but I love these slipper socks. I'd like a pair in every color, please and thank you.

Comfy cozy are we.

Ruffles are huge right now, and since I can't sew, I'd probably add some to my wardrobe by purchasing this hoodie in any of the available colors at Old Navy.

Delight in DownEast

Again, I find myself wanting a number of DownEast Basics items. The catalogue arrived at my house on Monday and I went through it more than once wishing that Santa really existed so he could bring me about 10 things for Christmas.

I want the dress above in white. It's absolutely stunning. I asked Kev if I could spend an inappropriate amount of my income on some things I don't need. He said absolutely not. It's good that one of us can be practical when we're on a tight budget again for the Holidays.

It sure isn't any fun though.

Let you light shine- part 2

My Victoria's Secret catalogue came in the mail yesterday and I noticed a great deal for body shimmer- $10 for this all over spray that also gives you the scent of Dream Angels Heavenly.

This serves as a less-expensive option than the MK body shimmer powder, and I am a huge fan of this scent from VS. It also comes in other flavors, so you can pick the VS scent you love most and add some shine to your body.

You're welcome.

Let your light shine

I've always wanted to try body shimmers. I remember using glitter STICKS in junior high to decorate my face to the max, but I have since matured in my tastes. This Mary Kay shimmer has caught my eye and I've actually added it as the first item on my Christmas list. Actually, it's the only item on the Christmas list I'm making for Kev.

I even have a coupon for him to use.

Sometimes it's ok to get fancy

I usually buy candles from ROSS or D.I., but it can't hurt to pick up a few "fancy" candles from IKEA. There is a fantastic selection and the prices are comparable to thrift stores. IKEA has everything from scented to un-scented, pillar to potted, tea lights to candle sticks. There's also a vast array of vessels for displaying the candle of your choice.

Deck the halls with IKEA

I promised my dear Kev that I'm not going to buy any additional Holiday decorations this year. We have been gifted many wonderful things from family, and our neighbor just gave us a ceramic Santa for our front porch (it reminds me of the small ceramics my Grandma Fluff used to make). I'm going to use all my resources to make the home feel festive and full of cheer. But that doesn't have to stop you from going to IKEA and purchasing one of these 11 inches wreaths for $3.99. Happy Holiday shopping! Let me know if I can find other wonderful, inexpensive decorations for you.

Bring in the sunshine in

Oh winter. I hate you. I've been thinking of getting more plants for the Pink House because I just can't bear the dreariness that is winter. Everything outside is so dead and gloomy. I need a pick-me-up when I get home after driving in the slushy gross streets of Ogden.

Etsy is an unconventional place to buy plants, but it's still fun to look. To avoid crazy shipping, I also love getting plants from IKEA. I've had better luck there with keeping plants alive than when I've bought plants from Home Depot/Lowe's.

I want to know who can regularly afford to shop with Shabby Apple

Even their sale items are too rich for my tastes. I know quality plays a part, but I've had $10 dresses from ROSS that have held their shape and strength over the last 4 years that make it impossible for me to spend so much on a dress.

Maybe someday.

I'm a little impatient for these to make their appearance

DownEast hasn't released this dress yet, but I still anxiously check their website to see if there's any progress or hints. Isn't it fabulous?

Both the Perfect Form dress and this Formal Flower Dress make me wish I had fancy Holiday parties to attend. Maybe I'll just wear them vacuuming.

Little pleasures

Before Kev lost his job, I had ordered this spicy dress from Forever21 and used a "free shipping" coupon to really make it worth my while.

Even though I felt like I should return it once we discussed Kev's job situation, I couldn't bring myself to do it. I had already tried it on and fallen in love with it. I wear a black, DownEast Basics Wonder Tee under the halter and the outfit really comes together.

It's my comfort for having a jobless husband again, judge me if you will.

Support handmade!

I'm happy to share that today my necklaces are featured in one of Etsy's showcases. Also? Check out the Facebook fan page for my shop. There will be updates there regarding Holiday sale prices and promotions!

Perfect for the upcoming Holiday.

I know the 50% off outer wear promo has ended at Old Navy, but don't let that stop you from getting a little something that you need right now from Old Navy, GAP, Banana Republic, Piperlime or Athleta!

I have a 30% off coupon to offer you because I'm nice like that.

Use it in stores AS MANY TIMES AS YOU WANT and thank me later.

Boo-yah.

I'm a winner.

Jess and I have each hosted a number of giveaways on our blogs.

And we keep winning them. Meaning, she wins mine and I win hers. It must be some kind of conspiracy.

Recently, I became the proud new owner of this beautiful antique key necklace that Jess made.

She has others options available in her Etsy shop, so if you're dying to have a vintage key necklace, you can easily find one without any hassle. The thing I love about his key is that the purple side is rich in color, while the back is in its original state. It's an awesome contrast.

I hear she may consider doing custom orders for lap top covers too. Just look at the one she made for a friend and tell me that isn't amazing!
